Branding of Mauritius – A valuable project
Criticisims have poured on the Branding of Mauritius Project, most of them being groundless. The Rs 40 million spent on the project as well as the slogan Mauritius c’est un plaisir have been at the centre of much controversy but the result is that people have overlooked the long term gains such a project could have for our country. Bouzermaurice is in favour of the project which goes far beyond a mere logo and its strap line. You should refer to the ‘plaidoyer’ of the Minister of Tourism, Leisure and External Commmunications when the question was put at Assembly level. It would give you a glimpse of the terms of Reference of the project. The Rs 40 Million are totally warranted being given that the expertise for such a project is scarce at international level.
